Is there any reason you can't simply jump to RHEL 6, or Scientific
Linux 6, and get a newer OS with more compatible, recent packages?

no I can not jump to el6 my system is paid until 2012 on centos 5 only.

I created a web page [1] on my blog about it with versions of gnutls and

I don't see a problem with updating nettle from 2.1 to 2.2. Let me see
if it's easy enough so that I can do it now.

However, I do see a problem with packaging gnutls. We have a very old
gnutls for RHEL2/3, but newer RHELs ship newer gnutls and I don't feel
like maintaining an RFX-only backport...

Out of interest, what is your use case?

Yury, my bad (again). I was corrected him and instead of 2.2-1 wrote
2.2.1 It was reference to your http://rpm.zaytsev.net/test/nettle/

Oh I wish he can write English. It looks like Google's translate from
Martian language. I am definitely done with this one.
