ClamAV 0.98.1 has been released
http://lurker.clamav.net/message/20140115.044238.5d82596e.en.html

Will repoforge have a package in a few days anyway,
or does this email act as a prompt ?

Thanks,

Thanks,
Andrew,

As per request, I have just updated spec file and also built the
packages. I have pushed them into repoforge-updates repo, which I have
created some time ago.

This reminds me, that I have to return to my work on RepoForge. I had
and have a lot of work with our national supercomputer and I completely
left RepoForge behind. Sorry for that. I going to try to move on and
make some progress with RepoForge again.

*Cool*. I've got old pull requests in to update Subversion in the
"extras" repository.

As an addendum to this: Firstly, David, thank you for taking on Repoforge.
It's very much appreciated. Secondly, I installed

http://fs11.vsb.cz/hrb33/el5/repoforge-updates/stable/x86_64/repoforge-updates
-release-0.2-1.el5.rf.x86_64.rpm

And found that the resulting file in /etc/yum.repos.d/ contained

mirrorlist = http://repository.hrbac.cz/mirrors/mirrors-repoforge-updates

However, when running yum update I get

# yum update clam*
Loaded plugins: downloadonly, rhnplugin, security
This system is receiving updates from RHN Classic or RHN Satellite.

Only by adding

baseurl = http://fs12.vsb.cz/hrb33/el5/repoforge-updates/stable/x86_64

to /etc/yum.repos.d/repoforge-updates.repo

was I able to get things working. Is something wrong?

Ben,

Sorry, this is my fault. Repo file is ok with CentOS and does not
conform with RHEL. I'm aware of this long standing issue. I'm going to
correct the file.

Can you tell me why 0.98.1 creates a new user

clamav:x:496:497:Clam Anti Virus Checker:/var/clamav:/sbin/nologin

as opposed to 0.98's

clam:x:497:498:Clam Anti Virus Checker:/var/lib/clamav:/sbin/nologin

This has caused us some issues...

Ben,

Package creates a user. It does not specify UID nor GID, see
https://github.com/repoforge/rpms/blob/b69e2f6ac5c334abf382bbc579d0ccc84ff9a8ff/specs/clamav/clamav.spec#L289.
See also the last commit diff, there's no change with the user:
https://github.com/repoforge/rpms/commit/b69e2f6ac5c334abf382bbc579d0ccc84ff9a8ff

https://github.com/repoforge/rpms/commit/b69e2f6ac5c334abf382bbc579d0ccc84ff9a8ff
the username is different (clamav vs clam), as well as the homedir. OP,
are you sure you didn't switch repos, eg between epel and rf?

Having consulted with some of the other admins here it appears that that
could indeed be the issue. My apologies to David/Repoforge. The 0.98 RPMs
were manually downloaded from EPEL (there was no epel.repo file in
/etc/yum.repos.d/), I added repoforge-updates.repo and what happened
happened.

Thanks for the solution/reason,

Sorry, I didn't mean to imply that the package had chosen specific UIDs and
GIDs. However, why the package did not use the preexisting user and created
a new one with a different name is what puzzles me.
