Hi everybody,

As you might discover the current state of the RepoForge is very
unhappy. Maybe the project is at the end. We do not have updates for
about six months notwithstanding we do have quite a lot of commits
within the repository on GitHub.

We as developers/commiters do not have access to RepoForge build stack
and the signing key. Dag has no time, we all understand this, but the
community is in a bad need of updates. Especially the security ones.
Because of this situation I have prepared update repository to handle
the updates outside the RepoForge scope. Packages are taken from
RepoForge GitHub repository and signed with my personal key. I'm
thinking about creating a new key for RepoForge project and resigning in
the future.

You can find repositories at:

http://fs11.vsb.cz/hrb33/el6/repoforge-updates/stable/i386/repoview/

Repository can be installed with these packages:

http://fs11.vsb.cz/hrb33/el6/repoforge-updates/stable/i386/repoforge-updates-release-0.2-1.el6.rf.i686.rpm

http://fs11.vsb.cz/hrb33/el4/repoforge-updates/stable/x86_64/repoforge-updates-release-0.2-1.el4.rf.x86_64.rpm

I know that this is unhappy situation and bad solution. But right now
there's no better one and take it as a step-in, a temporary solution.

Looking forward to hearing from you all soon,
David Hrb??

I feel foolish, but I tried to use the 0.98.1 clamav packages David
generously provided without success. Everything seemed to go smoothly
but there were no init scripts installed for starting and stopping
clamav. Fearing I had totally messed up, I backtracked to the EPEL
packages which were a bit more current. Anyone have any hints as to what
I am doing wrong?

Thanks in advance,
Fred

Best regards,
Fred

Thanks for the hint! It would be great if you and Dag can work out how
to continue this effort going forward. I've used Repoforge for a number
of years and greatly appreciate it. There really is no viable
alternative repo.

Best regards,
Fred Kienker

I'd like to say that Dag is trying hardly with us to keep RepoForge
continuing. RepoForge has everything in a good shape, but the updates.
We are now working together with Dag to assume the responsibility for
the updates.

Thanks,
David Hrb??
