Discussion:
[users] amavisd-new-snmp package on SL

Hi, I'm using Scientific Linux 5.5 with amavisd-new-2.6.4 package on one
machine and FC12 with the same package on other machine.
But I still want to have SNMP monitoring on amavis results, so I need the
amavisd-new-snmp package, which is available on FC12 and not on SL 5.5.
Why? Could anyone please add the package to the repo?
I see the difference in that on Fedora the package Vendor is Fedora,
on SL 5.5 it's Dag.

Best regards, Tomas

Hi,
just to clarify: it's not the same package (although it may be the same
upstream code), rpmforge doesn't provide packages for fedora (and hasn't
since F10 I believe).
So you're basically requesting that a new package be added to rpmforge,
someone else may be able to help you with that.

Yes, that's not the same package, it's the same upstream code. But from
the same upstream code can be generated same packages, of course. That
what I need - both the amavisd-new-snmp and amavisd-new.
The Dag repo has only amavisd-new, I need also the amavisd-new-snmp in
SL 5.5 just like I have on FC12.

That's great, thank you!
But yum still says it's unavailable, I'll try it once more later. Or
should I modify something to get this?

It has to be built first. Dag has to trigger the build. Would you like
to test it from my testing repo? It would be fine to test it really
before deploying.

Yes, I can do that, I'm just working on new mailserver and have a machine
for testing...

I have this package. Note, that if you have any brand new version I will need
obviously amavisd-new package also...

machine and FC12 with the same package on other machine.

Hi, I'm using Scientific Linux 5.5 with amavisd-new-2.6.4 package on one
machine and FC12 with the same package on other machine.

Hi,
just to clarify: it's not the same package (although it may be the same
upstream code), rpmforge doesn't provide packages for fedora (and hasn't
since F10 I believe).
So you're basically requesting that a new package be added to rpmforge,
someone else may be able to help you with that.

Yes, I can do that, I'm just working on new mailserver and have a machine
for testing...
I have this package. Note, that if you have any brand new version I will need
obviously amavisd-new package also...
Tomas
