I'd like to suggest xmlstarlet, a really useful tool for xml
manipulation on the command line

I noticed that, but we have a number of patches floating around and as
far as I understand their main purpose is to change the name of the
executable from rather generic "xml" that used to conflict with
something to "xmlstarlet"

http://svn.rpmforge.net/svn/trunk/rpms/xmlstarlet/

If you can provide us with a patch I am looking forward to commit it,
otherwise someone else might want to take a lead on that :-/
