Realizing that there are tons of offerings in the repository, I still
have to ask - is it possible to get a newer version of mplayer in
rpmforge? The current one is build dated 2009/7/11 - more than a year
ago. The mplayerhq page indicates that 1.0rc3 was released in may of
this year....

Also, does anyone know if the screensaver deactivation was changed in
the last release? I've started running some really long sound files
and although my screensaver is set to activate after 2 hours, when I'm
running these files, it never does.

Yes, but the version we offer is (apparently) newer than 1.0rc3. Don't
let the version number fool you, the mplayer project doesn't quite get
version naming :-)

It's possible, IIRC there are options to influence the screensaver. The
manual provides more detail than my memory ;-)
