Hi,
I originally send this email to the CentOS mailing list. Their reply
was that I send it to rpmforge.
Sorry about the mild expletive at the bottom, it came from the sender.
Thank you,
Joe Hesse

I am trying to update my system with yum and I keep getting this
* rpmforge: mirror.hmc.edu
* rpmforge-extras: mirror.hmc.edu
* rpmforge-testing: mirror.hmc.edu
why are you using *testing* repos if you can not solve conflicts?

You could try using --skip-broken to work around the problem
You could try running: rpm -Va --nofiles --nodigest
complain at *rpmforge* what crap they are doing by obsolete/replace RHEL packages

And the expletive is misplaced. The "rpmforge-extras" repository is
specifically for packages that overwrite or overlap with RHEL packages, and
are useful as an *option*. These are exacerbated by mixing RPMforge with
EPEL, which may provide parallel RPM's with distinct requirements.
